The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (formerly the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners) is one of five examination agencies for dentists in the United States. The other examination agencies are the Western Regional Examining Board, the Central Regional Dental Testing Service, the Council of Interstate Testing Agencies, Inc. and the Southern Regional Testing Agency. These were organized to better standardize clinical exams for licensure.

On January 9, 2015, the NERB became the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA).

NERB, now referred to as the CDCA, administers the ADEX dental and dental hygiene exam. The CDCA also administers specialty exams, a Florida Laws and Rules exam, and an EFDA exam.

CDCA Member states include: Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the Commonwealth of Jamaica.
